Instrument Playground starts by asking for a simple prompt that includes the name of a musical instrument, optionally preceded by an adjective like “upbeat,” “strange,” or “gloomy.” Once you enter your prompt, the AI will generate a 20-second audio clip as a starting point for your composition. However, don’t expect the music to sound exactly like the instrument you entered. Instead, the AI creates abstract compositions that capture the feeling of the prompt.
Exploring the World of Instruments
With Instrument Playground, you have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of instruments from different cultures. From the veena from India to the dizi from China and the mbria from Zimbabwe, you can explore lesser-known instruments and incorporate their unique sounds into your compositions. Adding an adjective to your instrument prompt allows you to suggest different styles, such as “moody,” “happy,” or “romantic.”
Unleash Your Creativity
Once the AI generates a clip that you like, you can take your composition to the next level by using the “Ambient,” “Beat,” and “Pitch” controls to customize different aspects of the music. This allows you to make the composition truly your own. If you want to add more instruments or experiment with different sounds, the advanced mode opens up a sequencer where you can layer and loop up to four tracks. The possibilities for creating your oddball musical masterpiece are endless.
Download and Share Your Composition
When you’re satisfied with your composition, you can download it as a .wav file. This way, you can share your unique creation with others and showcase your musical talent.
